Match Summary
The Nomads travelled to Wolseley Oval in Gunnedah on June 19 with hopes of another victory. Despite being severely undermanned with only 16 players, and at times just 14 due to injuries, the Nomads delivered a gritty and courageous performance in unrelenting heat that rivalled an Armidale summer.
With no bench for rotations and several players in unfamiliar roles, the team showed determination and resilience that continues to shape the future of the squad.
The women’s team unfortunately forfeited due to lack of numbers.

Coaches’ Notes
With Donny and Gus unavailable, veteran Chris (196cm, just shy of 50 years old) stepped into the ruck. His comeback lasted a brave 11 minutes and 27 seconds before a knee to the ribs ended his run, but he finished the game standing and committed.
Three-game rookie Lachie took over ruck duties and exceeded expectations, lasting longer than his boss and competing strongly despite running faster than he could kick.
The Dynamic Duval Duo, Jimmy and Marshall, put on a show on family day weekend. Special thanks to Marshall’s dad Cliff for fuelling the team with Powerade and lollies. Jimmy once again entertained, mixing brilliant goals with his trademark chaotic accuracy.
Captain Hunter Greene was heavily tagged throughout, often drawing multiple defenders, highlighting his importance to the opposition.
Zack Goldfinch produced his best performance in Nomads colours, even sacrificing a tooth in a committed effort.
Cotter Litchfield stood out with composed rebounding, clean hands and strong decision making under pressure.
John-Paul Canavan was named Players’ Player for his silky skill and elite positioning.
